DOAF DOES IT AGAIN FOR AIR MAX DAY—NATURALLY.
Latest partnership with GOAT & Flight Club features a nature-inspired Air Max Day Drop
The forests of the Great Northwest have been a longstanding source of both beauty and industry in Oregon for centuries. Now they’re a source of inspiration as well—for a double drop of Air Max 95 BB Player Editions from Ducks Of A Feather. Released in celebration of Air Max Day, the PEs come in two distinctive colorways, each an homage to a different aspect of the Pacific Northwest’s storied timber heritage.
The Air Max 95 BB DOAF Oregon “Lumber Yard” PE honors the region’s rich history as a major producer of lumber and wood products. Sporting an upper rendered in desert sand, baroque brown and mink brown with hemp accents, the design features wood suede overlays and heavy grain embossed suede throughout. Corded rope laces recall the cabling used to secure logs during transport, adding rugged utilitarian aesthetic, while the sockliner features a warm woodgrain design with “O” and “DOAF” branding on left and right shoes, respectively.
The Air Max 95 BB DOAF Oregon “The Woods” PE takes its cues from the Pacific Northwest’s lush evergreen forests themselves, while paying homage to University of Oregon basketball heritage. Oregon’s 1938-39 basketball team, known as the “Tall Firs,” won the inaugural NCAA Basketball Championship. Visiting teams who played Oregon in the raucous and crowded confines of Mac Court were said to be “Deep in the Woods” even before tip-off, a phrase that inspired Tinker Hatfield to design the distinctive court in the Ducks’ Matt Knight Arena which features silhouettes of Pacific Northwest tree lines bordering the court
Combining shades of Fir, Electric Green and Tomatillo, “The Woods” PE features a hairy suede upper paired with moss-textured textile overlays, recalling the varied natural tones produced by sunlight filtered through the forest canopy. Textured fuzzy laces secure the suede tongue which displays DOAF and Swoosh branding, while both the sockliner and outsole spine feature printed graphics of a forest floor underfoot.
Separately, each version of the custom Air Max 95 BB PE stands as a fitting tribute to the region’s rich forestry and timber history. Together, they might just be the most unique DOAF drop you ever saw.
As with all initiatives from Division Street’s Ducks of a Feather brand, proceeds generated from the Nike Air Max 95 BB will benefit participating University of Oregon student-athletes.
